"In Afghanistan and northern Pakistan they all say they are the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel and I never knew what they were talking about. If this was part of a Jewish permanent settlement then to my mind it reinforces the mythology that the 10 Lost Tribes were in that part of the world." -Professor Robert Eisenman

(Afghanistan)—In a wolves den, high in the Afghan mountains of Samagan along the Silk Road, a shepherd recently went looking for some of his sheep who had gone astray and instead found pieces of old parchment scattered across the dirt floor.
That’s the story reported in the Jerusalem Post of the discovery of nearly 150 manuscripts believed to have belonged to a medieval Jewish community. Included in the discovery are maps, a previously unknown history of the Kingdom of Judea, ancient passages from the Books of Isaiah and Jeremiah, poems, and bookkeeping records as well as other items. He believes they are, however, just the "tip of the iceberg." (Photo: Jpost.com)
According to a report in The Medievalists, Robert Eisenman, professor of Middle East Religions and Archaeology at California State University, believes this work may offer new insights on the Rhadanites, a group of early medieval Jewish merchants who set up an expansive trade network that connected Europe and Asia. The Rhadanites had mostly disappeared by the 11th century, but the Jewish community remained in Afghanistan until the 20th century.

"In Afghanistan and northern Pakistan they all say they are the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel and I never knew what they were talking about," said Eisenman. "If this was part of a Jewish permanent settlement then to my mind it reinforces the mythology that the 10 Lost Tribes were in that part of the world." [©Breaking Christian News 2005-2010. It’s interesting to see and know more evidence proving the existence of Jewish people, I think God is convincing the world at large that indeed there are a people called The jew. Am encouraged to have this revelation.
